Meet the Leadership Team
Rev. Timothy McGarvey
Rev. Timothy G. McGarvey has been the Senior Pastor at the Altoona Alliance Church since 1998. He is a graduate (B.A. in Bible and Theology/Pastoral Ministries) of Toccoa Falls College, a Bible college affiliated with the C&MA. Pastor Tim grew up in Mahaffey, PA. He is married to Brenda and they have four sons, Andrew, Ryan, Branden, and Bryce. Pastor McGarvey has been serving in pastoral ministry since 1987, pastoring churches in Mill Run, PA (4 years at Critchfield C&MA) and Butler, PA (7 years at Freeport Road C&MA) before coming to Altoona. Pastor Tim enjoys cross country skiing in winter and riding his motorcycle in spring-fall. He likes hunting, fishing, and playing Disc Golf. His life verses are: Philippians 3:12, 14 for his personal life; and 1 Corinthians 2:1-5 for his ministry. One of his favorite songs is “Great is Thy Faithfulness.” Some of Pastor Tim’s favorite parts of being a pastor: preaching/teaching from God’s Word; working with people; seeing people transformed by the power of God (trusting in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, growing in Christ, and using their spiritual gifts and passions to serve the Lord!); sending people on short term missions trips; and serving a loving church family with a prayer, care, share lifestyle.

He then spent 10 fruitful years in full time Youth Ministry at Grace Church in Tyrone Pa. where he also helped found and serve on the board of ELM (Every Life Matters pregnancy center) as well as working as a substitute teacher in the Tyrone School district.
Nathan desires above all to be a servant of God and His life verses come from his favorite chapter in the Bible, Phillipians 2 (verses 3-4). Nathan loves God’s creation and enjoys being out in it including swimming, biking hiking, boating/canoeing or playing basketball. He also loves everything about the ocean and boasts an impressive array of shells and nautical décor. If you have any needs both physical or spiritual, personal or family related, Nathan would love to help bear your burden in word and deed, praying for you and coming alongside you. For God’s Glory!
